Chiron Health was founded in 2013 by two former MBA students at the University of Texas at Austin. Andrew O’Hara, the company’s Founder and CEO, was previously a healthcare IT stock analyst at William Blair & Company, a Chicago-based investment bank. Covering the electronic health record (EHR) vendors, Andy became increasingly interested in the adjacent telemedicine space as reimbursement became more and more favorable.
Joining forces with Charlie Kolb, an experienced business development professional, the two dropped out of the Texas MBA program in the fall of 2013 to pursue the opportunity full time. Since then, the company has raised more than $2 million in seed capital from Austin’s top investors, including Capital Factory, and has grown to more than a dozen employees.
